Sarah Cunningham

Division Manager
Sarah chose to work for Moms In Motion because she was impressed with the help they provided while serving her son. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and helping others in the same way. The paperwork involved in the waiver process can seem daunting and she is thankful for the opportunity to help others navigate their way through.

Antonio Mauro

Senior Service Facilitator

Antonio is a native of upstate New York, but has lived in Virginia Beach since 2000. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and now a retired Naval Officer. He is the father of two beautiful children, Gisella and Giovanni. Giovanni, a prenatal diagnosis for Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) is what brought Antonio to this team.

Antonio is the founder of Giovanni’s 21 Gifts, a Non Profit organization that raises awareness for families who have a child with Down syndrome. He is very familiar with all waiver programs, to include military programs. Giovanni benefits from the CCC Plus Medicaid Waiver, which has given Antonio a wealth of knowledge to support other families on their journey.

Danielle Allen

Senior Service Facilitator
She has been a nurse since 2006 stepped out of the nursing field to further education in Human Services and advocate for individuals hoping to improve their quality of life. In 2015 she had her daughter prematurely and she was diagnosed with developmental delays, and her journey having a child with special needs began. She educated herself and reached out to local agencies to help her and her daughter receive the services they needed. She graduated in 2017 From Tidewater Community College with an Associate Degree of Applied Science with a major of Human Services then continued my education and obtained her Bachelor of Science with a Major in Human Services. She has worked in behavioral health and intervention for many years working in homes with children with Autism. She has worked with both adults and children with special needs in many different settings and capacities for many years. She is currently waiting for her License to become a Qualified Mental Health Professional for children. She looks forward to servicing and advocating for her clients and the community.

Elizabeth Buda

Service Facilitator

Lyzz is originally from Richmond but moved to Norfolk while attending Old Dominion University as an undergraduate. She received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a Minor in Communications from Old Dominion University. She began working in the human services field shortly after graduation and has been employed in various jobs assisting clients with mental health, behavior management and obtaining needed community supports. Lyzz went on to obtain her master’s degree in education and has been a licensed special education teacher for the last 15 years. Lyzz is a huge advocate for her students and their families and is excited to support families outside of the classroom environment. Lyzz is also the mother of twins and loves to spend time with her family at the beach, riding dirt bikes and conducting community outreach.

Lauren Filippone

Senior Service Facilitator
Lauren was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. She worked full time caring for children until she started a family of her own and moved to Virginia Beach in 2009. She loves children and now has four of her own. When her youngest son was diagnosed with autism, Lauren dedicated her time to advocating for him to get the services he needs. It was through this personal experience and multiple years of caring for children with disabilities, that she developed a strong passion for helping others obtain the necessary services and supports.

Patricia Lloyd

Senior Service Facilitator

Patricia is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Service Counseling, as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Patricia loves children and helping others in any way that she can. She feels that it is truly her purpose in life to be a blessing to others. Having worked with children with disabilities in a group home setting and having a godson who has Autism, Patricia knows firsthand the challenges and obstacles families face. When she saw how much of a blessing Moms In Motion was for her godson and his family, she knew that she wanted to be a part of this incredible organization.

Robyn Bailey

Senior Service Facilitator
Robyn is a mother to three boys and her husband is active duty in the Army. Robyn’s youngest son was diagnosed with Autism in 2014 and she has devoted her time to advocating for him and other children just like him. Robyn’s son has been on the CCC+ waiver and clients of Moms in Motion since 2014 and she wants to help others learn the program and ways to best help their children and family members. Her family is very active; in their free time, they can often be found on the basketball court, baseball field, bike riding, at the beach, or swimming in the pool. Robyn is looking forward to helping families like you while navigating this journey.

Shonta Griffin

Service Facilitator
Shonta has a great passion for being an advocate for change, a better quality of life, and mental and spiritual well-being. She is passionate about serving at-risk youths. She is an advocate for Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Shonta joined Moms in Motion to bridge the gap and ensure families who receive waivers are properly educated and have the available resources to meet their needs. Shonta believes she can genuinely impact the lives of everyone she provides support and services.

Tia Haywood

Service Facilitator

Tia was born and raised in Nelson County, VA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a Minor in Sociology from Old Dominion University. She is the mother of two. In 2019, she delivered her son who was diagnosed with Arthrogryposis and developmental delays. It was through this journey that she became her son’s biggest advocate and was introduced to Moms In Motion. Tia has always enjoyed helping people navigate through the difficulties of life and helping them in finding “their voice”. She looks forward to helping families in her community.
